Emission of Terpenoid Compounds from Rice Plants

چکیده
The global cultivation area of rice is equivalent to 4% the world’s forest and may be an important sink source trace gases. To produce a precise terpenoid emission inventory, it essential obtain reliable data from plants. In present study, emissions various species were measured using flow-through chamber tower flux measurement methods. measurement, linalool was emitted above-ground parts three cultivars “Koshihikari”, “Nipponbare” “IR72”. rates gradually decreased (<0.1 µg gDW−1 h−1) within two days during periods. As touching stimulus might have enhanced emission, non-contact method, i.e., applied “Koshihikari” paddy. Linalool not detected, but α-pinene detected in atmosphere above (mean ± 95% confidence interval) 0.006 0.004 nmol m−2 s−1 on land-area basis. 1/200 previously reported monoterpene rate plants commercial chamber, largely different other reports. We provide paddy for first time, which more because method can avoid stimuli leaves stems. Although obtained very low, values contribute establishment BVOC inventory Asia.

Biosynthesis and emission of terpenoid volatiles from Arabidopsis flowers.
Arabidopsis is believed to be mostly self-pollinated, although several lines of genetic and morphological evidence indicate that insect-mediated outcrossing occurs with at least a low frequency in wild populations. Here, we show that Arabidopsis flowers emit both monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes, potential olfactory cues for pollinating insects. Of the 32 terpene synthase genes in the Arabidopsi...
متن کاملAntifungal compounds from plants
Due to the increase of the incidence of fungal infections in humans and the limitations of the available antimycotic drugs, among which the emergence of resistant strains, there is a need for the discovery of new antifungal agents. Plants, especially those used in Traditional Medicine, linked to an unmatched chemical diversity, either as pure compounds or as plant extracts, provide unlimited op...
متن کاملThe biosynthesis of C5-C25 terpenoid compounds.
This review covers recently-published experimental information on the biosynthesis of terpenoids in the range C5-C25. In addition to sections on the mevalonate and mevalonate-independent (deoxyxylulose phosphate) pathways, the review considers in turn hemiterpenoids, polyprenyl diphosphate synthases, monoterpenoids, sesquiterpenoids, diterpenoids, and sesterterpenoids. The literature from Janua...
متن کاملAnticancer compounds from plants
Cancer is a leading cause of death all over the world and represents a major public health burden. Natural plant products have been historically used for the treatment of various diseases. The earnest search for plant-derived anticancer agents began in the 1950s with the discovery and development of the vinca alkaloids–vinblastine and vincristine, and with the isolation of the cytotoxic podophy...
متن کاملCompartmentation of Terpenoid Biosynthesis in Green Plants
On the basis of radioisotope-incorporation experiments it is suggested that acetyl-CoA, an obligatory intermediate in chloroplast terpenoid biosynthesis, may be formed inmaize from photosynthetically fixed carbon dioxide by the route carbon dioxide --> glycollate -÷ glyoxylate -* glycine --serine --> pyruvate -acetyl-CoA. The proposed route is supported by conventional radioisotope-dilution stu...
